How Does KnowledgeConnect Work?
Because it's a web-based application, users can access KnowledgeConnect through any standard web browser.
- Using search utilities and directory trees, employees navigate their way to colleagues with expertise in specific areas. Each expert's self-populated profile – which includes a job title, job function, qualifications, previous answers, and ratings from other users – helps users choose the expert best able to answer their questions. Employees can also opt to send their questions to a group, or use KnowledgeConnect's auto-routing system to direct questions to the right colleagues.
- Through ContextUs, the user's question is automatically routed to an expert and possible answers are provided.
- An email notification alerts experts to new queries. They can then respond through the same web interface, and may even earn incentives for participating.
